2008 W&MF Survey Results - Overview

The Workstation and Microcomputer Facilities conducted a client survey during the Fall 2008 Semester. The purpose of this survey was to gauge client satisfaction levels with our current services and evaluate future technology and service needs as part of our strategic planning process. We would like to thank everyone that participated in the survey.

The Workstation and Microcomputer Facilities management team is assessing the results and will use this information to target improvements that will be made to our policies and practices, as well as allocate resources to implement these improvements.

• The 1st floor Moffitt computer facility is the most visited location, with the 2105 Valley Life Sciences facility coming in second. The most infrequently used facility is our 175 Tan Hall location, with only 107 users marking that as their preferred facility.
• 47% of survey participants use a W&MF computer lab once a week, while 19% use it once a day.
• 45% of respondents use the facility between 12PM – 5PM.
• The three most common uses of our facility computers is for printing, writing papers, and watching class webcasts.
• 95% of survey participants own laptops but still use W&MF facilities.
• 62% of survey participants are interested in using wireless printing.
