Academic Classes: UC Berkeley academic classes may use the instructional facilities at no charge during normal business hours of the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters). After business hours and during Summer session, academic classes are charged a rental fee of $2/person/hour.
UC Extension, other UC Departments and External Groups: UC Berkeley academic classes have the highest priority during the Fall and Spring semesters. It is only in extremely rare circumstances that other groups will be permitted to reserve a computer lab during these times. Summer session and semester breaks are unrestricted and all labs may be reserved on a "first come, first served" basis at the rate of $4/person/hour.
Departmental Training: A newly added computer lab in 74 Barrows Hall is available for campus training projects on enterprise-wide applications (read the article). Staff development is also available through CalPACT, which regularly holds computer classes for UC Berkeley staff in 262 Evans Hall. See http://calpact.berkeley.edu/ for more details.
After reading the above policy that applies to your group, you must complete the following to schedule a reservation:
Once your request form has been received and processed, you will be contacted to confirm lab availability before receiving a user name and password for computer access. Only confirmed contracts will schedule a reservation. If you need assistance or have questions about this process, please contact the Instructional Scheduler: Nicole Sattler, reserve@berkeley.edu or (510) 643-6248.
